The digital collage In the Cloud, consisting of six oval high gloss tablets, combines text and image in a familiar advertising aesthetics: image and font correspond and are equivalent. However, the font covers large areas of the main figures, which in some cases disappoints the viewerʼs voyeuristic ambitions.

The background: an oval historical ceiling painting from the Angermuseum Erfurt; it depicts a mythological sky with various figures of deities.

The main characters: music and film stars walking on clouds many times the sizes of the deities, but still in a homogenous form. They are Madonna, Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga, Gangsterrapper Nelly, Michael Jackson and Pamela Anderson.

The large cross-sectional letters contrast in their different shades of gray with the delicate color of the image and show the concept of life, values and emotions.

The assignment to the figures is deliberate.

The title of the work describes the subject matter of the image, but also associates the Digital Cloud and the otherworldly version of IT-Technology.
